Cartoon Network Ratings Highlights for August 2 – 8, 2010

Across the second week of August 2010, Cartoon Network once again earned significant prime time delivery and ratings gains among its targeted kid demos, compared to the same time period in 2009.  Across the week, kids 6-11 delivery (466,000) increased by 4% and ratings (1.9) by 6%, while kids 2-11 delivery (746,000) increased by 21% and ratings (1.8) by 20%.

The Monday night block of animated comedies (7-10 p.m.) charted remarkable double-digit delivery and ratings growth across all kids, boys and girls demos ages 6-11 and 2-11.  Among the highlights vs. the same 2009 time period, kids 6-11 delivery (598,000) and ratings (2.4) both improved by 41%, and kids 2-11 delivery (957,000) improved by 57% and ratings (2.3) by 53%.  Also, kids 9-14 delivery (386,000) improved by 3% and ratings (1.6) by 7%.  Among boys 6-11, delivery (425,000) grew by 51% and ratings (3.4) by 48%, and boys 2-11 delivery (633,000) grew by 55% and ratings (3.0) by 50%.

The newest series to the comedy programming block, SCOOBY-DOO! MYSTERY INCORPORATED (7 p.m.), also earned solid double-digit gains compared to last year.  Attracting even more viewers that last week, kids 6-11 delivery (611,000) jumped ahead by 55% and ratings (2.5) by 56%; kids 2-11 delivery (1,003,000) advanced by 86% and ratings (2.4) by 85%; boys 6-11 delivery (396,000) jumped ahead by 40% and ratings (3.2) by 39%; and boys 2-11 delivery (619,000) advanced by 52% and ratings (2.9) by 45%.

The animated reality series TOTAL DRAMA WORLD TOUR (9 p.m.) continued to beat the same 2009 time period as well—kids 6-11 delivery (661,000) grew by 57% and ratings (2.7) by 59%; kids 2-11 delivery (969,000) grew by 64% and ratings (2.4) by 71%; and kids 9-14 delivery (538,000) grew by 70% and ratings (2.2) by 69%.

Cartoon Network’s live-action mystery-comedy series UNNATURAL HISTORY (Tuesday, 8 p.m.) posted delivery and ratings gains vs. its performance the previous week among key kids demos: kids 6-11 delivery (445,000) grew by 10% and ratings (1.8) by 13%; kids 2-11 delivery (620,000) grew by 10% and ratings (1.5) by 7%; boys 6-11 delivery (335,000) grew by 21% and ratings (2.7) by 23%; and boys 2-11 delivery (471,000) and ratings (2.2) both grew by 16%.

Friday night’s action-adventure line-up (7-10 p.m.) charted remarkable double-digit delivery gains vs. the 2009 time period across all targeted kids and boys.  Overall for the night, kids 6-11 delivery (292,000) increased by 10%; kids 2-11 delivery (497,000) increased by 14%; kids 9-14 delivery (223,000) increased by 14%; boys 6-11 delivery (244,000) increased by 69%; and boys 2-11 delivery (352,000) increased by 56%; and boys 9-14 delivery (186,000) increased by 77%.

Replay episodes of BEN 10: ALIEN FORCE (8 p.m.) and GENERATOR REX (8:30 p.m.) also scored major double-digit gains across boy demos.  Compared to the 2009 time period, BEN 10: ALIEN FORCE boys 6-11 delivery (245,000) advanced by 104% and ratings (1.9) by 90%; boys 2-11 delivery (336,000) and ratings (1.6) both advanced by 33%; and boys 9-14 delivery (197,000) advanced by 124% and ratings (1.6) by 129%.  Similarly, GENERATOR REX boys 6-11 delivery (221,000) jumped by 92% and ratings (1.8) by 100%; boys 2-11 delivery (307,000) and ratings (1.5) both jumped by 50%; and boys 9-14 delivery (146,000) jumped by 83% and ratings (1.2) by 100%.
