Cartoon Network Ratings Highlights for June 14 – 20, 2010

Cartoon Network’s Friday night block of animated action-adventure programming continues to sizzle compared to the same time period last year, ignited by the powerhouse performances of two original series—Generator Rex and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. Generator Rex (8:30 p.m.) generated double-digit delivery and ratings gains among kids and boys 6-11: kids 6-11 delivery (462,000) increased by 11% and ratings (1.9) by 12%, while boys 6-11 delivery (410,000) and ratings (3.3) both increased by 38%. Kids 2-11 delivery (632,000) grew by 5% and boys 2-11delivery (483,000) grew by 13% and ratings (2.3) by 10%. Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (8 p.m.) also attracted strong ratings and delivery gains among younger boys, but also appealed to kids and boys 9-14: boys 6-11 delivery (353,000) improved by 14% and ratings (2.8) by 12%, boys 2-11 delivery (434,000) improved by 7% and ratings (2.1) by 11%, kids 9-14 delivery (380,000) improved by 15% and ratings (1.6) by 14%, and boys 9-14 delivery (353,000) improved by 18% and ratings (2.8) by 17%.
Monday night’s animated original series Adventure Time (8 p.m.) also continued its winning streak compared to the same 2009 time period, earning significant gains among kids and boys 6-11, and kids and boys 2-11: Kids 6-11 delivery (831,000) grew by 16% and ratings (3.4) by 17%, boys 6-11 delivery (655,000) and ratings (5.2) both grew by 27%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,048,000) grew by 8% and ratings (2.5) by 4%, and boys 2-11 delivery (802,000) grew by 14% and ratings (3.8) by 12%.
Saturday morning franchise CRUSHZONE (6:30 – 11 a.m.) also charted dramatic improvement among targeted key demos. Compared to the same time period last year, overall kids 6-11 delivery (353,000) grew by 10% and ratings (1.4) by 8%, boys 6-11 delivery (289,000) grew by 24% and ratings (2.3) by 21%, kids 2-11 delivery (482,000) grew by 7% and ratings (1.2) by 9% and boys 2-11 delivery (376,000) grew by 21% and ratings (1.8) by 20%. Among the telecasts of high-octane animated programming, a replay telecast of Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (8 a.m.) earned between 50% – 86% delivery and ratings increases across all kids and boys demos, compared to the same 2009 time period. Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders (10 a.m.) also scored considerable delivery and ratings growth compared to the previous year, between 12% – 41% gains across the board among kids 6-11, kids 2-11, kids 9-14, boys 6-11, boys 2-11 and boys 9-14.
Cartoon Network’s overall total day performance (Monday-Sunday, 6 a.m.-10 p.m.) charted firm gains across targeted kid demos compared to the previous four-week average: kids 6-11 delivery (378,000) advanced by 9% and ratings (1.5) by 7%, kids 2-11 delivery (553,000) advanced by 2% and ratings were unchanged, and kids 9-14 delivery (288,000) advanced by 13% and ratings (1.2) by 9%.
