Cartoon Network & Adult Swim Ratings Highlights for April 5 – 11, 2010

CARTOON NETWORK
- Cartoon Network’s newest original animated series ADVENTURE TIME (Monday, 8 p.m.) attracted Triple-Digit delivery and ratings increases across all kids, boys and girls demos. Compared to the same time period in 2009, kids 6-11 delivery (1,242,000) catapulted by 171%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,661,000) jumped by 110% and kids 9-14 delivery (837,000) shot up by 239%.
- Overall, Cartoon Network earned significant double-digit prime time ratings and delivery gains across all kids demos last week. Compared to the same week last year, average kids 6-11 prime time delivery (640,000) increased by 25% and ratings (2.6) by 24%. Similarly, kids 2-11 delivery (878,000) increased by 18% and ratings (2.1) by 17%, while kids 9-14 delivery (444,000) increased by 23% and ratings (1.8) by 20%.
- Total Day delivery also grew among kids demos throughout the second week of April 2010. Kids 6-11 average delivery (401,000) increased by 6%, kids 2-11 delivery (611,000) increased by 10% and kids 9-14 delivery (278,000) increased by 3%.
- Anchored by ADVENTURE TIME, Cartoon Network’s new Monday night line-up of comedy programming earned dramatic delivery and ratings increases across the 7:30-10 p.m. time block. Vs. the same 2009 time period, kids 6-11 delivery (822,000) improved by 89%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,117,000) improved by 48% and kids 9-14 delivery (561,000) improved by 99%.
- Every animated comedy in the Monday night prime time schedule—Johnny Test (7:30 p.m.), Adventure Time (8 p.m.), Flapjack (8:30 p.m.),Chowder (9 p.m.) and 6Teen (9:30 p.m.)—posted delivery and ratings gained compared to the same time period last year.
- Additional programming highlights include the Tuesday night episode premiere of Total Drama Action (8-9 p.m.), which earned delivery gains across all kids, boys and girls demos, ranging between 25% – 129%. The Friday night presentation of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (9 p.m.) also earned significant ratings and delivery gains vs. the same 2009 time period among kids and boys 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14. Increases among ratings and delivery ranged between 50% – 77%. And a new episode of the live-action alternative series Dude, What Would Happen (Wednesday, 8 p.m.) earned solid double-digit ratings and delivery gains between 16% – 27% among kids 2-11, boys 2-11, kids 6-11 and boys 6-11.
ADULT SWIM
- Adult Swim once more grabbed the basic cable network #1 ranking for total day delivery of key young adults—adults 18-34, adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24, earning solid double-digit delivery gains among all demos.
- Across the second week of April 2010, average adults 18-34 delivery (544,000) grew by 20%, adults 18-24 delivery (309,000) grew by 18%, men 18-34 delivery (318,000) grew by 21% and men 18-24 delivery (179,000) grew by 15%.
- Among its programming highlights, the Monday night presentation of Family Guy (11 p.m.) earned significant delivery gains among adults 18-34 (1,303,000, up 22%), adults 18-24 (873,000, up 46%), men 18-34 (650,000, up 6%) and men 18-24 (434,000, up 84%).
- Adult Swim telecasts—including Family Guy, Robot Chicken, The Boondocks and Aqua Teen Hunger Force—accounted for 25 of the Top 50 telecasts of the week among adults 18-34 on ad-supported basic cable, more than any other network.
