CORUS KIDS MARCH 2010 HIGHLIGHTS
Nickelodeon presents the 2010 Kids’ Choice Awards live from Los Angeles
New series 10 Things I Hate About You premieres on YTV
(Toronto, Canada) Corus Entertainment, Canada’s largest kids’ broadcaster, welcomes springtime with new series and specials for kids and their families. Highlights include: the live broadcast of the 2010 Kids’ Choice Awards on Nickelodeon; the Canadian premiere of 10 Things I Hate About You on YTV; as well as the series premiere of Tobi! on Treehouse.
UPDATE: FAMILY DAY ON YTV
YTV will be adding the blockbuster movie Are We Done Yet? (the sequel to the hit movie Are We There Yet?) to its Family Day line up. In the film, premiering on Monday, February 15 at 6 p.m., newlyweds Nick (Ice Cube) and Suzanne (Nia Long) decide to move to the suburbs to provide a better life for their family. However, while working with an unorthodox contractor, building their dream home becomes more complicated than they thought.

NICKELODEON’S 2010 KIDS’ CHOICE AWARDS – LIVE BROADCAST
Roll out the orange carpet, Nickelodeon’s 2010 Kids’ Choice Awards are almost here – and this time, Canadians can enjoy it live in Canada on Nickelodeon. For the very first time the awards will air day-and-date with Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Saturday, March 27 at 8 p.m. Kids can watch their favourite Hollywood stars as they get slimed and accept awards such as The Wannabe Award, given to the best celebrity role model. For the first time ever, Canadian kids are encouraged to vote and be heard by visiting nickcanada.com.
For viewers who want to get caught up, YTV will repeat the broadcast of the Kids’ Choice Awards on Friday, April 2 at 7 p.m.
TEAM UMIZOOMI – SERIES PREMIERE
Nickelodeon makes math fun and relatable with the new series Team Umizoomi. This 20-episode, half-hour series combines adventure with interactive songs designed to help kids develop their skills with numbers, counting, measurements, patterns and shapes. Created by the team behind Blue’s Clues, Team Umizoomi follows a miniature repair squad of mighty mathematicians. Milli, her brother Geo and Bot the robot, are Team Umizoomi and their tiny size allows them access to environments that are otherwise hidden, helping kids understand everyday uses of math. Team Umizoomi premieres in the show’s regular timeslot on Tuesday, March 2 at 1:30 p.m.
YTV MARCH 2010 HIGHLIGHTS
While Kat, a strong-willed, forthright feminist, gets distracted from her world-saving plans when she crushes on Patrick Verona. Despite their differences, these sisters soon begin to realize that they need each other in order to navigate their way through Padua and especially when having to deal with their very over-protective father (Larry Miller). This half-hour live-action comedy premieres in its regular timeslot on Friday, March 19 at 9 p.m.
MARCH BREAK ON YTV
Upon high demand, YTV’s popular after-school block, The Zone is bringing back the Battle for the Golden Sandwich beginning Monday, March 15 at 3:30 p.m.
Kids can celebrate an entire week free from school with the YTV hosts – The Zone’s Carlos, CRUNCH’s Andy and guest host Ajay from YTV’s sketch comedy series That’s So Weird! – as they go head-to-head in challenges every day throughout March Break during the Battle for the Golden Sandwich 2. Viewers will be asked to rally behind their favourite host on YTV.com.
To top it all off, viewers won’t want to miss new episodes of their favourite sea sponge SpongeBob SquarePants every day at 5:30 p.m. throughout March Break. As well as the premiere episode of the one-hour special iCarly: iQuit.
iCARLY: iQUIT – PREMIERE
Best friends Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) and Sam (Jennette McCurdy) aren’t being very friendly to each other. Both girls are big fans of aspiring filmmakers Fleck and Dave and want to help them with the upcoming iShorts video contest. When the boys get into a fight, Sam and Carly take sides. Can iCarly survive the split? Meanwhile, Spencer (Jerry Trainor) wins a boat and has to dock it outside his building since he can’t afford to put in the water. iCarly: iQuit premieres on Friday, March 19 at 8 p.m.
ALL ABOUT SAM ON YTV
YTV celebrates sidekick Sam (actress Jennette McCurdy) from iCarly on Thursday, March 25 starting at 7 p.m. The night kicks off with the premiere episode iCarly: iWas a Pageant Girl followed by the premiere episode True Jackson, VP: True Drama and two episodes of Malcolm in the Middle – all guest-starring Jennette.
iCARLY: iWAS A PAGEANT GIRL – PREMIERE
When Sam discovers that her old pageant rival is competing in Seattle she tells Carly and Freddie (Nathan Kress) that she used to be a pageant girl and convinces Carly to compete. Meanwhile, Freddie agrees to go on a double date with Spencer but things quickly get competitive. iCarly: iWas a Pageant Girl premieres on Thursday, March 25 at 7 p.m.
TRUE JACKSON, VP: TRUE DRAMA – PREMIERE
When Pinky Turzo (Jennette McCurdy) asks True (Keke Palmer) to help her get revenge on Kelsey for firing them from designing costumes for Ryan’s school play, she agrees and then quickly regrets it. True Jackson, VP: True Drama premieres on Thursday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m.

When Tobi and Laloo visit the beach, they soon find out that it’s not very clean. Using special tools and vehicles, the kids work together until the beach is pristine. Premieres on Sunday, March 7 at 9:55 a.m.
TOBI!: THE WALL – PREMIERE EPISODE
Tobi and Laloo find out that the wall between Smid and Gussle’s house has fallen down. When Tobi realizes that the wall only serves to keep the neighbours apart, he convinces them to use pretty stones to make a garden path instead – which brings Smid and Gussle closer together as friends. Premieres on Sunday, March 7 at 10:55 a.m.
THOMAS & FRIENDS: THE GREAT DISCOVERY – PREMIERE SPECIAL
In preparation for Sodor Day holiday, Mr. Percival gives Thomas the special job of collecting lumber from the hills with Duncan. Duncan decides to play a trick on Thomas – he tells him the old rickety railroad will lead him back to town faster. Thomas takes the route, but after coming across some obstacles he goes down another line where he makes an incredible discovery. Narrated by actor Pierce Brosnan, this one-hour special premieres on Sunday, March 21 at 5 p.m.
GUESS WITH JESS: WHAT’S MY FAVOURITE THING ABOUT SPRING? – PREMIERE EPISODE
Jess is promised a special surprise if he can tell Mimi his most favourite thing about spring. Is it the new grass, the blossoms on the trees or the colourful new flowers? When he notices newly hatched baby birds he finds his favourite part of spring. This episode premieres on Treehouse Saturday, March 27 at 10:30 a.m.
BARBIE IN A MERMAID TALE – PREMIERE EPISODE
Barbie stars as Merliah, an ordinary teen who discovers a family secret – she’s a mermaid. Merliah sets out on an underwater adventure with her dolphin friend Zuma to rescue her mother, the queen of Oceana. While on her mission to save the ocean, she learns that what makes her different might also be her greatest strength. This half-hour premiere episode airs on Saturday, March 27 at 6 p.m.
