Cartoon Network Brews a Month of Spine-Tingling Programming for Halloween
October Line-up Loaded with All-New Halloween Specials, Including the Launch of Goosebumps, a Special Presentation of The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It Hosted by Emily Osment and a 3D Event from Popular Original Series Out of Jimmy’s Head and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends
Cartoon Network will offer a bag full of treats in October with a line-up of new episodes and specials themed around everyone’s favorite haunted celebration. The entire month will feature premieres of Halloween-inspired episodes, original movies and many spooky specials that will be sure to satisfy this year’s Halloween craving. And on Oct. 12, Cartoon Network’s popular original series Out of Jimmy’s Head and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends will take viewers into another dimension with a 3D Halloween special.
The month kicks off with the premiere of the new Goosebumps series, based on R.L. Stine’s best-selling book series, on Monday, Oct. 1 and will air every Monday-Friday at 8 p.m. (ET, PT). To help celebrate Halloween, Emily Osment, star of The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It, will host a weekend of haunting programming starting Saturday, Oct. 27 with a Goosebumps marathon beginning at 10 a.m. (ET, PT) and concluding Sunday, Oct. 28, at 8 p.m. (ET, PT). The night continues with a special presentation of The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It at 8 p.m. (ET, PT). Throughout the evening Emily will share behind-the-scenes information and fun trivia on The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It.
If that’s not enough Halloween excitement, Cartoon Network will showcase a marathon of ghoulish movies throughout the month and on Halloween with Billy & Mandy’s Jacked-Up Halloween; Ed, Edd n Eddy’s Boo Haw Haw; Casper’s Scare School and many more.
Viewers will also experience two of their favorite shows, Out of Jimmy’s Head and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, in thrilling 3D on Friday, Oct. 12 during the new programming franchise, Fried Dynamite. The evening begins at 7 p.m. (ET, PT) with a new episode Out of Jimmy’s Head called “Ghost,” in which Jimmy takes a turn in the other world when he sees a ghost in the classroom attic. His best friend Craig sees this as an opportunity to cash in on Jimmy’s “ghost spotting” abilities and creates a pricey and spooky seminar. At 7:30 p.m. (ET, PT) is the haunting Halloween 3D episode of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. In “Nightmare on Wilson Way,” Bloo’s ultimate Halloween trick goes horribly awry when his friends are turned into zombies—and not just ordinary zombies—3D zombies.
Cartoon Network teamed up with TIME for Kids to teach children the science of the third dimension, and they distributed 3D glasses for them to enjoy some sci-popping fun. In addition, Cartoon Network will sponsor 3D House Parties for fans to host a special viewing at their houses featuring an advance screening of the 3D episode of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. Viewers can also go to CartoonNetwork.com for information on how to receive free 3D glasses.
