Kids’ WB Adds “Skunk Fu!” to Fall Line-Up

Martial Arts Hijinks Comes To Kids’ WB! With Fall 2007 Addition Of Action-Comedy “Skunk Fu!”

(August 20, 2007 – Burbank, CA) – Kids’ WB! on The CW has added some overseas muscle to its fall lineup with the animated martial arts comedy “Skunk Fu!” it was announced today by Kids’ WB! Senior Vice President and General Manager Betsy McGowen. Acquired from UK-based Cake Distribution, “Skunk Fu!” was acquired from UK based Cake Distribution and is the sixth new series coming to Kids’ WB! for the 2007-2008 season.

Already scoring big in the UK and Australia, “Skunk Fu!” is the hilarious tale of Skunk, a rambunctious martial arts student under the tutelage of wise old Panda. The goal of Skunk’s training is to become the hero The Valley ultimately needs to fend off perennial attacks by evil Dragon, and end a centuries-old battle. Skunk and Panda are joined in their comedic adventures by a gallery of entertaining animal pals – from the combat-ready Rabbit and the skillful Fox to the adroit Turtle and cowardly Tiger. Each does his part to guide Skunk along his hero’s journey of enlightenment, usually with amusing results. On the antagonist side of The Valley are Dragon’s minions – his lead henchman Baboon and an army of Ninja Monkeys. They stand as equal parts menacing villains and comic foils to Skunk’s escapades.

“‘Skunk Fu!’ seamlessly blends martial arts action and broad humor with a mesmerizing Flash-anime artistic style that fits perfectly into the Kids’ WB! lineup,” McGowen said.

“Skunk Fu!” is a co-production between Cartoon Saloon, Telegael and Hoek, Line and Thinker., Telegael and Cartoon Saloon. Audiovisual rights for “Skunk Fu!” SKUNK FU! are being handled worldwide by Cake Distribution and all Licensing & Merchandising rights are being managed by Galleon Plc. The series currently airs on ABC Rollercoaster in Australia and CBBC in the UK. Cartoon Network Asia, Super RTL in Germany and FCanal J rance 5 and Canal J in France are also set to broadcast the series.

The 2007 Kids’ WB! fall lineup will be announced in the near future.

Previously announced new series arriving in the fall include the CG-animated “Eon Kid,” the multi-platform enhanced “Magi-Nation,” and the self-discovery show, “Will & Dewitt.” Returning to Kids’ WB! this fall are Warner Bros. Animation’s “Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!” the top-rated Saturday morning animated broadcast series; the popular “Tom and Jerry Tales”; the second season of “Legion of Super Heroes,” recently named Wizard magazine’s best new animated series; and four-time Daytime Emmy Award winner “The Batman.” “Johnny Test,” one of Saturday morning’s top performing broadcast series, also returns to Kids’ WB! for its third season beginning in Fall 2007. Mid-season entries will feature “The Spectacular Spider-Man” from Culver Entertainment, and Cookie Jar Entertainment’s action/comedy “World of Quest.”
