Cartoon Network Fires Up a New Host and Programming Franchise
Fried Dynamite Set to Debut Labor Day Weekend
Cartoon Network will launch a new prime time Friday night and Saturday morning block devoted to kids’ lifestyle and the best Cartoon Network series and movie events. Fried Dynamite is hosted by a 10-year-old super fan named Blake, who earned his job through initiative and creativity and has been given full access to Cartoon Network. Fried Dynamite will air Fridays from 7-11 p.m. (ET, PT) and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m-12 p.m. (ET, PT), beginning Friday, Aug. 31.
Blake’s a normal kid who talked himself into a sweet gig hosting Fried Dynamite. Not only does he get his own office space at Cartoon Network headquarters, but he and his friends have behind-the-scenes access to show creators, voice actors and pretty much anyone else who makes things happen. He even came up with the name Fried Dynamite, because it sizzled and sounded fun and crazy like the cartoons. Blake will also be sent on the road to cover the latest trends and events that interest kids.
Fried Dynamite presents Cartoon Network’s top original series, world premiere episodes and blockbuster movies. Friday nights showcase original series such as Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, as well as new series Out of Jimmy’s Head and Chowder. Blake and his friends will showcase what they’ve discovered at Cartoon Network and solicit input from viewers just like them.
Saturday mornings belong to the Dynamite Action Squad and are all about action-adventure with shows like Ben 10, Teen Titans, Pokémon: Diamond Pearl and Fantastic Four. Blake and his crew join forces to create segments as intense and power-packed as Cartoon Network’s Saturday morning lineup. They swing from ropes, they jump over creeks, and they talk on walkie-talkies. Blake and his friends will also encourage other kids to send in their very own action-packed mini-movies.
