The N’s “Get A Shot At A Spot On Degrassi Sweepstakes” Garners Over 1,000,000 Entries

New York, NY – November 9, 2004 – The N, the nighttime network for tweens and teens, has made Cassady Vaughn’s dream become a reality. The lucky 14-year-old from Grand Rapids, Michigan has won a walk-on part on her favorite television show, Degrassi: The Next Generation, the grand prize in The N’s “Get a Shot at a Spot on Degrassi Sweepstakes.” Vaughn’s entry was selected randomly from over 1,187,000 entries that were submitted via mail, online and in-person at The N’s local Degrassi summer events (The Scene Mall Tour and The N’s Countdown To Degrassi screenings).

Vaughn will travel to Toronto, Ontario with her mother and her best friend for a once-in-a lifetime chance to meet and hang out with the stars of Degrassi: The Next Generation and appear in an upcoming episode. The N will provide the threesome with roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations for four nights, car rental and $1,000 spending money as they visit the set of Degrassi and watch Cassady as she makes her national television debut with her walk-on role.

“We are so excited for Cassady to meet her favorite Degrassi stars and make a guest appearance on the show,” said Angela Leaney, Vice President, Brand Communications, The N. “We were overwhelmed by the amount of entries which exceeded our expectations as an emerging television network,” Leaney added.

Cassady, a freshman at Union High School in Grand Rapids, is an avid theater buff, a member of her high school’s swim team and serves on the Mayor’s Youth Council. Cassady has taken theater classes for several years and has performed in three plays, including playing the lead role in Beauty and the Beast in 7th grade. Cassady watches The N’s Degrassi on Comcast digital cable on channel 120 in Grand Rapids.
