Boomerang Encores June Bugs: A-to-Z, a 72-hour June Tribute to Bugs Bunny
Classic ‘Toons Starring “King of Looney Tunes” Presented Commercial-Free in Alphabetical Order, June 4-7
June Bugs: A-to-Z, an alphabetical tribute to animation’s biggest star, Bugs Bunny, returns to Boomerang this June with a 72-hour marathon beginning Friday, June 4 at 8 a.m. (ET) and continues until 8 a.m. (ET) on Monday, June 7. Following more than 10 years of various June Bugs stunts exclusively on Cartoon Network, Boomerang presents June Bugs: A-to-Y, with more than 160 Bugs Bunny cartoons in alphabetical order, beginning with “The Abominable Snow Rabbit,” and ending with “Yankee Doodle Bugs.”
Over the course of 72 straight hours (presented in 8-hour blocks), Bugs will clash with an all-star roster of Looney Tunes stars, ranging from his most frequent tormentors, like Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam, to lesser-known co-stars such as Cecil Turtle, Count Bloodcount, Sir Pantsalot and Witch Hazel.
June Bugs is Boomerang’s signature “toast to the rabbit with the most.” The versatile star always keeps his cool and outsmarts his foe. Bugs is just as comfortable in outer space, facing off against Marvin the Martian, as he is in a grassy glade. He has also been known to traipse through time, rubbing shoulders with historical figures like Christopher Columbus (“Hare We Go”), Robin Hood (“Rabbit Hood”), Dr. Jekyll (“Hyde and Hare”) and even Humphrey Bogart (“Slick Hare”).
“As the home for the world’s best classic cartoon entertainment presented in a commercial-free environment, Boomerang is the perfect place to showcase Bugs Bunny and his prolific theatrical career,” said Mark Norman, senior vice president and general manager, Boomerang. “These shorts, several of them Oscarâ winners in fact, comprise the crown jewel of the AOL Time Warner animation library. We are indeed privileged to have this opportunity to present the very best of them to our family audience, most of whom have loved Bugs Bunny since their own childhood.”
