The Fab Four to Hit the US!

Tweenies To Join US TV Channel Noggin

Making its first ever US appearance, Tweenies is set for US stardom, as Milo, Bella, Jake and Fizz become the next big household names across America. The BBC’s pre-school hit series has been licensed to US cable channel Noggin in a deal brokered by the BBC Sales Company in New York.

Noggin, the commercial free educational TV network from Nickelodeon, has taken an initial 50 episodes of the series. Tweenies will be added to Noggin’s schedule and will be shown twice daily in over 30 million homes beginning in April 2003.

Mark Johnstone, Director of Children’s & Learning, BBC Worldwide, said, “In partnership with Noggin we have found the ideal home for Tweenies and look forward to working with the channel to bring these fun characters to children across the US. The Tweenies are enthralling, lovable and educational, and will have an immediate impact on US television.”

“We are thrilled to bring Tweenies, a proven international success, to American television on Noggin,” said Sarah Tomassi Lindman, Vice President, Production and Programming, Noggin.

Tweenies has been licensed, by BBC Worldwide, to nearly 50 countries and territories, including Germany, Korea, France, Japan, Thailand, Ukraine, Slovakia and Australia, and has been reversioned in several languages. When airing on Noggin, the Tweenies will be re-voiced with American actors.

Tweenies is targeted at three to five-year-olds and encourages children to learn through entertainment and creative play. Each episode focuses on the adventures of the four brightly coloured Tweenies – Bella, Milo, Fizz and Jake, along with Doodles the dog – as they take on a magical and exciting journey of discovery where real life and fantasy come together and every day is a new adventure.
