[via press release]

Kids’ WB! To Air Spanish Simulcast Of Irreverent Comedy “¡Mucha Lucha!,” Beginning Saturday, December 14

(December 2, 2002 – Burbank, CA) – Kids’ WB! has joined forces with Warner Bros. Animation to broadcast Kids’ WB!’s new Latin-flavored, irreverent comedy “¡MUCHA LUCHA!” with a Spanish simulcast, beginning Saturday, December 14 (10:30-11:00 a.m. ET). The network, in conjunction with its affiliates, will provide Hispanic viewers the ability to watch the series in Spanish via Second Audio Programming (SAP).

Kids’ WB! also makes an unprecedented early second season pick-up commitment of the freshman series “¡MUCHA LUCHA!” The critically acclaimed series will bring more over-the-top comedy to Kids’ WB! during the 2003-2004 season.

A comedy-adventure about honor, family, tradition…and donuts, “¡MUCHA LUCHA!” explores the Latino cultural phenomenon known as “Lucha Libre.” The series follows three mascaritas — Rikochet, Buena Girl and The Flea — who study and live the “Code of Masked Wrestling”…hoping to someday become great masked wrestlers. The first-ever all-flash animated series on broadcast television, the comedy is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and combines bold humor and exciting graphic designs in two fast-paced 11-minute episodes.

“¡Mucha Lucha!” brings a fresh new sound to kids’ programming with Mexican sensation, Chicos De Barrio, and various artists such as Celso Piña, Volumen Cero, Bacilos, Tito Nieves, Pesado and Frankie Negron, among others. A “¡MUCHA LUCHA!” inspired soundtrack is now available.
