“Ozzy & Drix” Episode Contains Anti-Smoking Message To Coincide With “The Great American Smokeout”
(November 7, 2002 – Burbank, CA) — The #1 kids’ network in Kids 6-11, Boys 2-11, Boys 6-11 and Tweens 9-14, Kids’ WB! and the breakout hit “Ozzy & Drix” tackle the issue of teenage smoking and the deadly creature Nick O’Teen (voice of Tim Curry, “Family Affair,” “Rocky Horror Picture Show”) on Saturday, November 16 (9:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT). The anti-smoking episode contains messages that coincide with the national “Great American Smokeout” campaign.
The episode, entitled “Where There’s Smoke,” takes an inner-body look at the dangerous effects of smoking. When Hector experiments with cigarettes, he unleashes a ruthless creature known as Nick O’Teen into the City of Hector. Ozzy and Drix must stop Nick before he makes his way to the brain…causing Hector to smoke again. In a fiery scene, Nick O’Teen performs an original raucous rock ‘n roll tune á la “Rocky Horror” style.
