Kids’ WB! Kicks Off 2002-2003 Season

(August 21, 2002 – Burbank, CA) — Kids’ WB!, the #1 network in Boys 6-11 and the #1 broadcast network in Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and Boys 2-11, gears up to bring more high-adventure, humor and heart in its new Saturday morning and Monday-Friday line-ups for the 2002-2003 Fall season. The hot Saturday morning schedule kicks off on Saturday, September 14, with a “Scoob-Tacular-Saturday Sweepstakes” which offers kids the chance to win one of thousands of prizes throughout the morning (8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ET). The weekday slate blasts off with five-days-a-week of excitement, beginning Monday, September 16.

The network introduces three new series to the Fall schedule: modern-day mysteries featuring the famous Scooby Gang in the all-new “What’s New Scooby-Doo?,” the inner body, buddy-cop comedy Ozzy & Drix and the new Latin-themed hit “¡Mucha Lucha!,” which had an early sneak-peek debut on Saturday, August 17. Kids’ WB! favorites returning to the schedule with all-new episodes include “Jackie Chan Adventures,” “Yu-Gi-Oh!,” “Pokémon: Master Quest,” “X-Men: Evolution,” “Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team” and classic “Scooby-Doo.”

On Saturday, September 14, Kids’ WB! will give-away five hundred “Scooby-Doo” prizes every hour in the “Scoob-Tacular-Saturday Sweepstakes.” Each hour, kids will be invited to find a “Scooby Clue” on-air in order to be eligible to win the prize for that hour. Once the viewer knows one or all four clues, kids may enter by logging onto www.KidsWB.com by Monday, September 16, or by sending in a postcard with the “Scoob-Tacular-Saturday Sweepstakes” secret answer by Monday, September 23. The prizes for the morning include the “Scare Me Silly Scooby-Doo!” talking plush Equity Toys, Scooby-Doo!™ DVD, “Scooby-Doo! Sport-Fun®” skateboards and the “Scooby-Doo: Night of 100 Frights” Sony PlayStation 2 video game.

Beginning Saturday, September 14, the new season slate jump-starts at 8:00 a.m. ET with an early dose of “Yu-Gi-Oh!,” the hot new animé hit that has dominated the ratings since its debut last season, featuring ancient legend, exotic monsters and fantastical adventures. The all-new “What’s New Scooby-Doo?” (8:30 a.m. ET) brings the classic meddling Scooby Gang to the 21st Century as they travel the world in the Mystery Machine, solving the comedy capers that come their way.

“Jackie Chan Adventures” (9:00 a.m. ET) returns for a third season with Jackie and Jade on a new quest to discover the location of the Zodiac animals that now possess the amazing powers of the magical talismans. The original animated comedy-adventure “Ozzy & Drix” (9:30 a.m. ET) features the hilarious bod squad duo, white blood cell Ozzy and over-the-counter cold pill Drix, who give kids – literally – a microscopic view inside adolescence…from the body of a 13-year-old boy named Hector Cruz.

The top-rated animé-adventure “Pokémon: Master Quest” (10:00 a.m. ET) follows Ash and Pikachu on their journey to be the ultimate Pokémon trainer. Celebrating Latin culture, “¡Mucha Lucha!” (10:30 a.m. ET) follows three mascaritas as they make their way in a bizarre world where Mexican masked wrestling is a way of life.

Last season’s breakout hit “Yu-Gi-Oh!” (11:00 a.m. ET) is back with a second season — and a bonus airing — of more thrilling adventures as Yugi learns what it takes to be a master duelist. The excitement and drama escalates to a whole new level this third season in “X-Men: Evolution” (11:30 a.m. ET) as the X-Men team must now face the world after their true mutant identities have been exposed.

On Monday, September 16, Kids’ WB! will kick off its new Monday-Friday line-up with the classic “Scooby-Doo” mysteries (3:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). “Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team” (3:00 p.m. Wednesday only) returns for a second season as the Rescue Heroes find and save those in need in two 11-minute adrenaline-pumping episodes. The weekday line-up also features more adventures of “Jackie Chan Adventures” (3:30 p.m.), “Pokémon” (4:00 p.m.) and the smash-hit “Yu-Gi-Oh!” (4:30 p.m.).

Also returning to Kids’ WB! later this season will be the first African-American teenage superhero “Static Shock,” new around-the-world adventures of “The Mummy: Secrets of the Medjai” and the 3D-CGI animated robotic series “Cubix.”
