Four-hour Holiday Marathon Captures the Spirit of the Season, December 15

Los Angeles, CA – November 28, 2001 — Nickelodeon lights the menorah, heaps the basket with mazao and trims the tree, expanding holiday tradition into a diverse programming package in December that celebrates Chanukah, Christmas and Kwanzaa respectively with all-new episodes of As Told by Ginger, Rugrats and The Fairly OddParents. Moreover, Yuletide fare especially for pre-schoolers includes episode premieres of Little Bill and Bob The Builder. And, to make kids merry throughout the entire month, Nick’s airwaves will glow with seasonal favorites from hit Nicktoon series — Mondays-Thursdays, December 3-27 (8:30 p.m. ET/PT) — including SpongeBob SquarePants, Hey Arnold, The Wild Thornberrys and CatDog – and with a diverse holiday marathon, December 15 (2-6 p.m. ET/PT).

Giving holiday cheer and cheers for diversity, Nick kicks off an enlightening and joyful quintuplet of episode premieres with “Merry Christmas, Little Bill!” (December 3), in which Alice the Great (Ruby Dee) teaches Little Bill (Xavier Pritchett) that Christmas miracles do happen. The following week, St. Nick arrives on The Fairly OddParents, December 9, with “Christmas Every Day,” in which Timmy’s (Tara Strong) wish for 365 days of Christmas a year throws the globe into gridlock. Bob the Builder and his friends don holiday costumes for the annual School Carol Concert (December 10). That very night, in As Told by Ginger’s “An Even Steven Holiday,” title tween Ginger Foutley (Melissa Disney) learns she is one-quarter Jewish and insists on exploring her roots and celebrating both Christmas and Chanukah. On December 11, in “A Rugrats Kwanzaa,” Rugrats’ spunky African-American tot, Susie Carmichael (Cree Summer), learns the joys and traditions of Kwanzaa from effervescent Aunt T. (guest voice, Irma P. Hall, Soul Food), who arrives with a festive flourish and a valuable life lesson.

Kipper wakes up one morning to find everything covered in snow. He and Tiger turn themselves into a giant snowball and make a snow dog.
