LINDA ELLERBEE AND NICKELODEON TO PRESENT NICK NEWS: KIDS, TERRORISM AND THE AMERICAN SPIRIT SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, AT 8:30 P.M. (ET/ PT)
New York, September 14, 2001-Nick will air a Nick News Special Edition, Nick News: Kids, Terrorism and American Spirit, on Sunday, September 16, at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT) to offer kids and their families a starting point to talk about their fears and thoughts surrounding this past Tuesday’s series of events. The program also will be shown on Monday, September 17, at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT) and Wednesday, September 19, at 8:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
Hosted by Linda Ellerbee, Nick News will encourage kids to open a dialogue with others and with adults by giving voice to their concerns and, above all, reassuring them that it is alright to talk about the subject and to share their feelings.
The program will also discuss how to act and think things through in an emergency situation and will focus on the positive, specifically on the abundant examples of people heroism in the face of extreme crisis.
Nick News: Kids, Terrorism and American Spirit will made available on Cable in Classroom and a teacher’s guide will be posted on www.teachers.nick.com. The program’s Cable in the Classroom airings with be at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, Wednesday, September 19 and Friday, September 21
