Kids’ WB! Invites Viewers To First-Ever “Kids’ WB! Spooky Sleepover”

(July 3, 2001 – Burbank, CA) – “Are you afraid of the dark? What makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up? Are you ready to test your luck at the most exciting sleepover event of the year? Bring your pillow, sleeping bag and flashlight… and be prepared for a fright night of fun! Kids’ WB! invites viewers to the first-ever “The Kids’ WB! Spooky Sleepover” with best-selling children’s author and host R.L. Stine, beginning Friday the 13th (3:00 – 5:00 p.m.), and waking up for more thrills and chills during the Saturday morning line-up on July 14 (8:00 am. – 12:00 p.m. ET). Kids will get a taste of what ghastly experiences to expect from the new live-action anthology series “The Nightmare Room,” which comes to Saturday mornings this fall on Kids’ WB!, as R.L. Stine reads an original terrifying tale entitled “The Haunted Sleepover.”

During the Friday afternoon block, R.L. Sine will begin reading the scary-fun story throughout the programming. “The Haunted Sleepover” follows a superstitious kid named Brian who invites his friends over for a typical sleepover party. In a twist of terror, they discover a magical deck of cards and accidentally release a headless haunted ghost. “Find my head or I will take yours,” the ghost bellows…and the nightmare begins. Kids may log onto www.KidsWB.com on Friday, July 13 until midnight, to vote for their favorite fiendish ending. On Saturday, July 14, the winning conclusion will be read by R.L. Stine on-air throughout the morning.

In addition, “The Kids’ WB! Spooky Sleepover” webpage on www.KidsWB.com will have scare-silly activities and ghoulish games for kids to create their own “spooky sleepover” at home. Kids can create their own The Nightmare Room bookmarkers, decoration and masks, along with “Boo Not Disturb” door hangers and “Bedstone Epitaphs.” Also, scaring up fun in the kitchen has never been so much fun with “Eyeball S’mores” and other wacky recipes. Be prepared for the nighttime fun by entering people’s names into the “R.L. Stine Name Generator” and learning their “spooky” identity.

Get ready to celebrate the last days of summer until school begins with “The Kids’ WB! Spooky Sleepover” both on-air and on-line…dare to enter The Nightmare Room!
