Donna L. Friedman Is Promoted To Executive VP Of #1 Kids’ Network – Kids’ WB!
(January 6, 2001 – Pasadena, CA) – Donna L. Friedman, who has been in charge of Kids’ WB! during both seasons that it ranked #1 among all broadcast networks, has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Kids’ WB!, it was announced today by Susanne Daniels, President, Entertainment, The WB.
Ms. Friedman, who is responsible for the scheduling, development and maintenance of current series both during the week and on Saturday mornings, has brought hit shows such as “JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES,” “STATIC SHOCK,” “X-MEN: EVOLUTION,” “CARDCAPTORS” and “POKÉMON: THE JOHTO JOURNEYS” to join “POKÉMON” on the #1-rated schedule. She has also chartered relationships with outside studios, while maintaining a close relationship with Warner Bros. Animation. Under Ms. Friedman’s direction, Kids’ WB! was #1 on all of television, defeating even her alma mater Nickelodeon in key kids’ demos in the 4th quarter of 1999, when most of the kids’ advertising revenue is spent. The win by Kids’ WB! ended a 10-consecutive-quarter run at #1 for Nick.

Ms. Friedman, a Harvard graduate, came to Kids’ WB! as Senior Vice President in January 1999 from Nickelodeon, where she began her career in 1990 and worked her way up through the ranks to Vice President, Marketing/Associate Creative Director, Nickelodeon Latin America.
