September 27, 2001 | NICK NEWS WITH LINDA ELLERBEE, the longest-running kids' newsmagazine in television history, will commemorate the 10-year anniversary of its Emmy, duPont and Peabody award-winning news coverage with a one-hour, prime-time special, TURNING TEN: A NICK NEWS CELEBRATION, airing Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at 8pm (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. The special is a retrospective of the weekly newsmagazine's most compelling stories over the last decade, showing how this groundbreaking program has been able to explain events such as war, terrorism, school shootings, AIDS, racism and politics to kids, and how kids have responded by working to change their world for the better.

- Nickelodeon Renews “The Brothers Garcia” for Third Season & TV Movie in 2002
September 10, 2001 | Nickelodeon's hit primetime, live-action comedy The Brothers Garcia has been renewed for a third season, it was announced today by Cyma Zarghami, Executive Vice-President and General Manager, Nickelodeon. Eleven new episodes of the show will begin production in October in Hollywood. The Brothers Garcia, which made television history in July 2000 as the first English Language sitcom with an all-Latino cast and creative team of writers, directors and producers, will also be featured in a 90-minute tele-film to air on Nickelodeon in the 2002 season.
