Top 50 Most Watched Nickelodeon Programs of 2013
With 2013 coming to close in just days, we’re taking a look back at the year – in TV ratings! We started off with Disney Channel yesterday, now today we move on to Nickelodeon…
Of course, like always, Nick has to thank SpongeBob for their overall ratings success. Even though Nick is still below Disney Channel in demos, Nick does maintain a slight lead with viewers – all thanks to the yellow-one. SpongeBob SquarePants scored 43 of Nick’s top 50 programs for the year.
The other seven? Well, the Kids’ Choice Awards stands at #1 for the year, yes ahead of SpongeBob, with 5.8 million total viewers. Swindle was the next non-SpongeBob program of the year in sixth place. June’s Sam & Cat premiere ranks at #10. The season premiere of Fairly OddParents fills in at the #22 spot. Half of the Nick premiere of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs ranked in at #27. Surprising for some, the Nick premiere of The Last Airbender movie from 2010 placed #31 for the year. The last non-SpongeBob program was a re-airing of the 2002 Scooby-Doo movie at #35.
Even if we had posted the top 500 programs aired on Nickelodeon this year, SpongeBob still accounts for 448 of them (89.6%), and the fact that Nick aired a grand total of 5 new half-hours of SpongeBob this year means that 443 of those 448 showings are repeats.

Please Note: In the Nielsen TV world, the year 2013 runs from 12/31/2012 to 12/29/2013. Therefore, three days of data (12/27-29/13) is currently unavailable as of this writing. If anything aired between these days scores enough viewers to be placed in the chart below, we’ll update later next week with the corrected information.
